- He is the director of Patterson Associates.
- Born in the Waikato region, Patterson completed a Bachelor of Architecture degree at The University of Auckland in 1984 and started his own practice at age 26. Patterson is Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Architects (FNZIA).
