About Ash Dykes
Ashley Philip Dykes, commonly known as Ash Dykes, (born 1 November 1990 in St Asaph, North Wales, UK) is a Welsh adventurer and extreme athlete.
He achieved two world-first records, trekking across Mongolia and Madagascar, before the age of 25.
In August 2019 he achieved his third record, becoming the first person to complete the 4,000-mile (6,437km) trek along the course of the Yangtze, the longest river in Asia and the longest in the world to flow entirely within one country.
As an explorer and survival expert, he is entirely self-taught and, unusually in such a discipline, has no military background.
