General Aziz Al-Yasiri was the Secretary General of the Iraqi Democratic Current.
He was born on July 1, 1945 in Hilla, Babylon Province, Iraq into the Al-Yasiri tribe.
Al-Yasiri, Al-Yasar, al-Yasseri, or Al-Yasser (depending on the English spelling) is a noble family that is scattered throughout Central and Southern Iraq.
Male members of the family are accepted as descendants of the Islamic prophet Muhammad through his grandson Husain ibn Ali, son of the prophet’s daughter Fatima Zahra and his son-in-law Ali ibn abi talib.
