Brian "Psychochild" Green is an American software engineer, game developer and game designer known for his work on the online 3D graphical RPG, Meridian 59.
He worked on the game for 3DO, then co-founded Near Death Studios in 2001.
He is a frequent gaming conference speaker and writes for a number of game design websites, including GamersInfo.net.
He also currently does consulting and legal expert work. Meridian 59 was originally released in 1996 by the 3DO company and was one of the first commercial online games available for sale in retail stores in the US.
The game was purchased by Near Death Studios, Inc.
in 2001 and relaunched commercially. Green is also co-editor with S.
Gregory Boyd of the book Business & Legal Primer for Game Development, published by Charles River Media (2007) ISBN 1-58450-492-7, and was a contributor to the webzine Imaginary Realities. He first used the pseudonym Psychochild on a MUD called Genocide, which he played avidly in college.
His interest in online game development grew out of his experience as a "wizard" working on a MUD.
