  • Evans played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a third baseman (1,442 games), first baseman (856 games), and designated hitter (253 games) for the Atlanta Braves (1969–1976, 1989), San Francisco Giants (1976–1983) and Detroit Tigers (1984–1988).
  • He won a World Series championship with the Tigers in 1984, led MLB in home runs in 1985, in runs created in 1973, and in walks in 1973 and 1974.
