- (Edward) Dewar (8 June 1895 – 8 December 1969) was a New Zealand poet, writer, teacher, farmer, worker and First World War soldier.
- Best remembered for his 1953 autobiographical book Chaslands about the early pioneering days there, he also wrote poetry on sport and his experiences as a First World War soldier and contributed widely to newspapers.
