About Gottlob Friedrich Steinkopf
- Gottlob Friedrich Steinkopf (1 March 1779, in Stuttgart – 20 May 1861, in Stuttgart) was a German landscape painter. From 1799 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
- He later lived and painted in Rome (1807–14) and Vienna (1814–20).
- In 1821 he returned to his hometown of Stuttgart, where he stayed for the remainder of his life.
- In 1829 he became a teacher of landscape painting at the Art Academy in Stuttgart, where in 1833 he attained the title of professor.
