About Hy Eisman

  • Hy Eisman (born March 27, 1927) is an American cartoonist, active since the 1950s, who writes and draws the Sunday strips for Popeye and (until the strip went into reruns in 2006) The Katzenjammer Kids.
  • In December 2008, Eisman introduced the character of Bluto to the Popeye Sunday strips, as the twin brother of Brutus. He entered the comic strip field in 1950 and worked on several strips, including Kerry Drake, Little Iodine and Bunny.
