Jared Francisco Borgetti Echavarría (Spanish [xa'?eð ßor'xeti] ; born 14 August 1973) is a retired Mexican footballer. At 46 goals, Borgetti is the second all-time leading goal scorer (behind Javier Hernández) for the Mexico national football team.
He is the Club Santos Laguna top goal scorer with 205 goals.
A prolific goal scorer at club and national levels, Borgetti was renowned for his heading ability.
He is popularly known by the nickname of El Zorro del Desierto ("The Desert Fox") in reference to his debut professional team and his birthplace.Jared Borgetti’s best known goal was scored against Italy in the 2002 World Cup.
