Vice-Admiral Jawaid Iqbal (Urdu: ????? ?????; b.
31 March 1942), HI(m), SBt, is a retired three-star rank admiral in the Pakistan Navy, politician, and a diplomat who served as the Pakistan Ambassador to Tunisia from 1998 until 2004. He is known for his activism for the civilian control of the military and vehemently opposed the military takeover of the civilian government in 1999.
In addition, he is also known for supporting the anti-corruption activism and was once of the presiding leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for this cause.
