- Born on 20 September 1972 in Maryborough, Queensland, Morris is a former field hockey defender, who was a member of the Australian Women's Hockey Team, best known as the Hockeyroos, that won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Four years later she was on the squad, winning the title, this time at home in Sydney, Australia.
- Making her international debut in 1992, Morris was famous for her penalty corner.
