About Lata Brandis
- Marie Immaculata (Lata) Brandis (26 June 1895 – 12 May 1981) was born in the small village of Úmonín in Austria-Hungary (now in the Czech Republic).
- She was the daughter of Leopold Brandis (1854–1928) and Johanna von Schäffer (1871–1927).
- Known by her nickname Lata, in 1937 she became the only woman in history to win the Great Pardubice Steeplechase.
- She died in Reiteregg, Austria.
