- He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels. García was originally signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization as an amateur free agent in 2004, at the age of 16.
- His initial MLB call-up occurred on July 9, 2013.
- García made his big league debut, the next day, July 10, 2013, versus the Washington Nationals, at Citizens Bank Park.
