About Marius Ormestad
- Marius Ormestad (13 December 1874 – 28 May 1964) was a Norwegian trade unionist and civil servant.Ingvald Marius Ormestad was born at Våle in Vestfold, Norway.
- He chaired the Norwegian Union of Iron and Metalworkers from 1898 to 1909.
- Political he belonged to the Labour Party, of which he was vice chairman from 1903 to 1906.
- From 1902 to 1907 he served as a representative on Oslo City Council, and from 1905 he sat in the presidency.
- Ormestad was manager of the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Insurance (Tryg) from 1911 to 1944 and was a board member from 1935 to 1942.
- He edited Insurance magazine senere kalt Sosial Trygd from 1912 to 1945. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St.
