- He was born in Christiania; the son of merchant Peter Mortensen Leuch and Anna Catharina Hellesen.
- Leuch was the owner of Bogstad Estate, which he inherited in 1756.
- He married Mathia Collett in 1758.
- Christian Braunmann Tullin wrote the poem "Maidagen" to their wedding.
