- He was born with a mother from Maluku, Ragnild Lawalata Antoinette (better known as Reggy Lawalata) who was an artist and a father from Manado, Alexander Polii (now divorced).
- His younger brother, Mario Lawalata, is Indonesian soap opera player. Oscar had studied fashion at fashion schools in Jakarta, Esmod.
