About Roman Rutowski
- Roman Rutowski (4 April 1947; Wroclaw, Poland – 12 June 2013; Wroclaw) was a full professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Wroclaw. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Wroclaw, Rutowski worked at the Department of Pathological Anatomy of the Institute of Biostructure of the Medical Academy from 1970 to 1973.
- Between those years, in 1972, he got his degree in pathomorphology from the University of Wroclaw.
- From 1973 to 1982, Rutowski served at the R.
- Czerwiakowski's Surgical Department of the Municipal Hospital in Wroclaw, and for 20 years afterwards, worked at the Department of Experimental Surgery and Biomaterial Research AM in the same city.
- During those times, he also managed to obtain both B.S.
- and M.S.
- degrees in general surgery in 1979 and 1981 respectively, and a Ph.D.
- degree in medical sciences from the University of Wroclaw.
- From 1982 to 2013, Rutowski was a chairman at the Clinic of Traumatic Surgery AM in Wroclaw, becoming its head in 1995.
- Prior to it, in 1993, Rutowski was honored with the habilitated doctor degree and in 1999 became professor, promoting to full professor five years later.
- Between 2005 and 2008, he was a member of the Senate of the Medical Academy in Wroclaw.A specialist in traumatic damage and hand surgery, Rutowski was an editor-in-chief of Polimery in Medicine as well as an author and co-author of 243 publications, ten chapters, one patent, and three scientific films.
- His thesis received Individual Award from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in 1994.
- Rutowski himself, was an awardee of many medals including; Bronze Cross of Merit, the Order of Polonia Restituta, and the National Education Medal, among others.
