- Saša Stanišic (Serbian Cyrillic: ???? ????????; born 7 March 1978) is a German writer.
- He was born in Višegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina as the son of a Bosniak mother and a Serbian father.
- In the spring of 1992, he fled alongside his family to Germany as a refugee of the Bosnian War.Stanišic has written an acclaimed novel in German which was published in English under the title How the Soldier Repairs the Gramophone.
- The book won multiple awards in Germany and abroad, and has been translated into several European languages.
- The English translation was done by Anthea Bell who won the Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize for her work for Stanišic.
