- He is currently an assistant coach at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. The 6-foot 9-inch, 247-pound (2.06 m, 112 kg) Reid was born and raised in Virginia Beach.
- His father, Herman Reid Sr., was a football player in the 1960s with the Baltimore Colts.
