About Mahabali Singh
- Mahabali Singh (born 20 April 1955 Bhabua Kaimur district Bihar) is an Indian politician.
- He was a member of the Indian Parliament and used to represent Karakat (Lok Sabha constituency).He is a kushwaha leader of Shahabad region in Bihar who fought against the upper caste hagemony in close cooperation with the downtrodden particularly the chamar caste of the area.
- He is said to be man behind the Kesri massacre in which 11 members of Rajput community were brutally assassinated in late eighties.
- His involvement could not be proved.
- He joined Bahujan Samaj Party and twice represented Chainpur seat in Bihar Legislative Assembly on BSP ticket.
- It was during his second tenure that he defected to Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad Yadav and became the PWD minister in Rabri Devi cabinet in 2002. Later on he joined Janata Dal (United) of Nitish Kumar and won Chainpur seat in 2005 and 2006 assembly elections.
- In 2009 he won Karakat Parliamentary constituency on JD(U) to lose it to Upendra Kushwaha of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party in 2014. Presently he is representing Karakat seat defeating his arch rival Upendra Kushwaha of Mahagathbandhan.
